What's coming — and what's wild

We built the desktop app, accounts, and billing in about 60 days. We're not stopping there. The rest of 2026 is a run of big releases — tasks and v1 polish, AI images in your vault, encrypted backup, a mobile companion, seasonal packs, and Teams on the horizon. One headline feature every month, with a polish month so nothing feels half-finished. Here's what to expect — dates may shift, but the direction is real.

The rest of 2026

Month by month — what lands when, and why we're excited about each one.

  1. June 2026

    Rock-solid v1 + daily habits

    Task actions (shipping now)

    • Capture to-dos from chat without leaving the conversation
    • Schedule sheet when the assistant suggests next steps
    • Morning Briefing and task list in Settings
    • Local tasks by default — zero setup

    Rock-solid v1.0 (end of June)

    • Search that just works — one box; natural queries; consistent results everywhere
    • Chat & save flows — reliable compress, save-to-vault, and launch promotion experience
    • Stability & speed — fewer rough edges, snappier everyday use
    • Packaged DeskMemory v1.0 on Windows with a proper update path

    Todoist integration

    • Connect Todoist from Settings — OAuth sync for users who live in Todoist
    • Keep local tasks and synced tasks working together in one workflow

Word import & deeper PDF workflows

    • Word (.docx) import into your vault through classified save
    • Deeper PDF workflows — richer intake, handling, and export paths beyond text-layer-only today

    Scanned PDF OCR

    • OCR for scanned PDFs — bring paper and image-only documents into your vault as searchable notes
    • Honest quality bar: ship when extraction is good enough to trust, not before

Trust the foundation and build a daily habit — open DeskMemory for memory and what you need to do today.

    Platform: Windows desktop (packaged updates).

  2. July 2026

    WOW release

Images that land in your vault

    AI image generation

    • Describe what you need in chat — no separate mode to switch into
    • Generate brand-ready visuals through your DeskMemory account (powered by MiniMax)
    • Reference images from your vault for character and brand consistency
    • Refine and regenerate without losing context

    Your visual library

    • Every saved image lives on your disk with tags, descriptions, and metadata
    • Find visuals as fast as notes — filter Notes | Images | All in your library and search
    • Attach saved images to the next chat or creative workflow

Memory is not only words. Your brand assets deserve the same search and governance as your notes.

  3. August 2026

    Sleep better

    Optional encrypted cloud backup

    • Encrypted backups through DeskMemory — designed for privacy, not mining your files
    • Restore on a new machine without manual folder surgery
    • Clear Settings: last backup, size, and exactly what is stored

Principle: Local-first stays the default. Cloud is your choice, never required. (Backup infrastructure is built with mobile and Teams in mind.)

  4. September 2026

    Everything feels finished

Polish month — no new headline features

    • Harden June–August (tasks, images, backup) from real-world use
    • Revisit search, chat, import, and export where feedback says “almost”
    • Ship a release that feels cohesive, not crowded

Fast shipping only wins if the product still feels crafted.

  5. October 2026

    DeskMemory in your pocket

    Mobile companion v1

    • Browse your library on phone or tablet
    • Search and read notes synced through your backup layer
    • Quick Capture on the go — syncs to your desktop vault

Honest v1 scope: Read, search, capture — not full desktop chat or image generation on day one.

  6. November 2026

    Season of memory (and momentum)

    Seasonal packs and promotions

    • Seasonal memory packs — holiday wishes, gifting lists, year-end reflection
    • Plan promotions and message-pack offers
    • Light engineering; momentum toward Teams
  7. December 2026

    Building together

    Promotions and Teams groundwork

    • Holiday offers and community thank-yous
    • Behind the scenes: org invites, roles, and shared-library prep for the new year

More heart than heavy features — setting up January’s big collaboration launch.

  8. End of January 2027

    Work together, stay in control

    Teams (beta)

    • Shared libraries for marketing, brand, and finance groups
    • Role-based access — e.g. finance sees finance folders; brand leads see brand kits
    • Admin invites and org billing (details at launch)

Principle: Solo local vaults remain. Teams is for groups who choose to collaborate — with permissions, not chaos.

June: tasks + Todoist + import + v1. July: images. August: backup. September: refine. October: mobile. November: seasonal. December: Teams prep. January: Teams.

Coming later

Not dated yet — driven by demand and quality bar.

  • macOS & Linux desktop
  • More integrations (Notion, Slack, calendar) — driven by demand

What we are not building (for now)

  • Forced cloud

Backup is optional — your vault stays on your machine first.

  • Replacing your files on disk

Markdown remains yours — readable, portable, and under your control.

  • Another throwaway chat tab

DeskMemory is a library with memory — not a chat window with no vault.

  • Enterprise compliance theater

No invented certifications or guarantees we have not earned.

Out now — tasks from chat + Morning Briefing

End of June — Todoist, Word import, deeper PDF workflows, scanned PDF OCR, and DeskMemory v1.0. Download the Windows desktop and manage your account on the web.
